1. Scientific Committees under CHP issue consensus interim recommendations on use of COVID-19 vaccine and monkeypox vaccine in Hong Kong
The Scientific Committee on Vaccine Preventable Diseases and the Scientific Committee on Emerging and Zoonotic Diseases (JSC) under the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health convened an online meeting to discuss the use of the Comirnaty vaccine and monkeypox vaccine in Hong Kong. The consensus interim recommendations have been published on June 17.

2. Extension of time interval for receiving first two doses of BioNTech vaccine for persons aged 18 to 59
In response to the latest advice from experts, the Government called on people aged 18 to 59 to pay attention to the extension of the time interval between the first and the second doses of the BioNTech vaccine from three weeks to eight weeks. Starting from 9am on June 22, relevant persons can select an appointment time slot which is eight weeks after they have received their first dose of the BioNTech vaccine at the booking system of the designated website for the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme.

3. Government steps up COVID-19 testing for employees and continues targeted social distancing and infection control measures
In view of the developments of the epidemic situation, a Government spokesman said that government bureaux and departments (B/Ds) will step up the use of COVID-19 rapid antigen tests (RATs) for government employees with a view to cutting the hidden transmission chains as early as possible by increasing the coverage of staff and the frequency of testing.

4. 68th and 69th rounds of compulsory testing for staff members of RCHEs, RCHDs and nursing homes
The Government announced the details of the 68th and 69th rounds of compulsory testing for staff members of residential care homes for the elderly (RCHEs), residential care homes for persons with disabilities (RCHDs) and nursing homes.
