{"id":4843,"date":"2025-05-02T11:22:42","date_gmt":"2025-05-02T03:22:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hkcscheer.net\/chp-urges-public-not-to-use-cosmetic-cream-suspected-to-contain-excessive-mercury\/"},"modified":"2025-05-02T11:24:25","modified_gmt":"2025-05-02T03:24:25","slug":"chp-urges-public-not-to-use-cosmetic-cream-suspected-to-contain-excessive-mercury","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hkcscheer.net\/pa\/chp-urges-public-not-to-use-cosmetic-cream-suspected-to-contain-excessive-mercury\/","title":{"rendered":"CHP urges public not to use cosmetic cream suspected to contain excessive mercury"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">The CHP of the Department of Health made an announcement today to the public and urged them not to use a cosmetic cream called \u201cSupple and White Night Cream\u201d under the brand name YIFUMEI as it may contain excessive mercury, which is harmful to health.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The appeal followed the CHP&#8217;s receipt of notification of a case of mercury poisoning from the Hospital Authority (HA) involving a female patient aged 44. \u00a0The patient was found to have proteinuria (presence of excessive proteins in urine) after admission to the hospital. \u00a0Her urine and blood samples were found to contain mercury above the respective reference levels.<\/p>\n<p>Investigation revealed that the patient had been using a product labelled as \u201cYIFUMEI Supple and White Night Cream\u201d since 2022. \u00a0Testing by the HA revealed that a sample of \u201cYIFUMEI Supple and White Night Cream\u201d contained excessive mercury. \u00a0The clinical diagnosis is suspected to be related to the use of the above product.<\/p>\n<p>Prolonged exposure to mercury can cause damage to the nervous system and kidneys. \u00a0Symptoms may include tremors, irritability, insomnia, memory deterioration, concentration difficulty, impaired hearing and vision, and change in taste.
