Housing Service in Hong Kong

Hong Kong provides adequate and affordable public housing to eligible resident through the Hong Kong Housing Authority (HKHA) and the Hong Kong Housing Society ( HKHS). You may be eligible to apply for various forms of public housing flats offered by these two public organization.

The Government ensures that all those who cannot afford private rental accommodation have access to subsidized public rental housing. Rents are set at affordable levels. The Housing(Amendment) Ordinance 2007 which came into operation on January 1, 2008 provides a more flexible rent adjustment mechanism for public rental housing that allows both upward and downward adjustment of rents according to changes in tenants’ household income.
