Vocational Training Council (VTC)

VTC provides a full range of pre-employment and in-service programmes to students through its member institutes such as the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE), Vocational Training Council School of Business and Information Systems (SBI), Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI), Youth College etc.

IVE offers higher diploma, diploma, foundation diploma, vocational certificate and craft level courses in nine disciplines: applied science; business administration; child education and community services; construction; design, printing, textiles and clothing; electrical and electronic engineering; hotel, service and tourism studies; information technology and mechanical, manufacturing and industrial engineering.

HKDI offers comprehensive and contemporary design courses from foundation to higher diploma levels.

The Youth College mainly offers full-time courses such as diploma in vocational studies, foundation diploma and certificate in vocational studies. The campuses of Youth College are located in So Uk, Kennedy Town, Tuen Mun, Tin Shui Wai and at the three VTC Centre complexes in Kowloon Bay, Kwai Chung and Pokfulam.

Employees Retraining Board(ERB)

ERB provides full-time and part-time courses to all Hong Kong eligible employees (including new arrivals) aged 15 or above and with education attainment of sub-degree or below.

The part-time courses are fee-charging programmes but trainees with an income less than HK$7,000 may apply for course fee exemption. Besides, retraining allowances are given to trainees of full-time courses who achieved 80% of attendance in the courses.
